Week of contrasts

Posted: 27-06-2008

Last week was a week filled with contrasts for me. For two days I was rehearsing with over 20 other musicians, actors and singers to get the great "Bergfall" -show ready for it's premiere Thursday 19'th of June in Norheimsund. This was an magnificent show directed by Hildegunn Riise, and a tribute to the muscisian Geir Tveitt and the poet Olav H. Hauge who both would have celebrated their 100'th birthday in 2008.

It was an enormous stage, and magical lightning, and everything was truly beautiful!

                                              (me all dressed up!)

So this is what Roy Ole and i was during daytime, and than at night we locked ourselves in the studio in my brothers "barn" and recorded demos till like 4 in the morning. Where there before used to be cows making moaning sounds, we now have human beings recording moaning music :-)

          (me not so dressed up)

My brother produced while Roy Ole and I were playing as beautifully and gracefully as we could!

So there you go, from the dark cellar in the barn of creativity to the pompous but yet so fragile celebration of two heroes from the past filled  glam, and with over a thousand people in the audience! I love it all!

Oslo everyday life...

Posted: 20-05-2008

Hi there, so the tour is over and I'm back in Oslo trying to get into a routine of writing music, doing internet-stuff and administration work for my music-business life....I miss touring, but it's always like that the following days after a tour.

I just have to post a picture from beautiful Modalen in spring:

Seriously, this could be like Thailand or something! But oh' no-it's Norway in a nutshell!

So, the sun is shining and I'm gonna walk around Oslo and suck in the air and be inspired. Something definitely inspired me the other day; I went to see Robert Plant and Alison Krauss in Oslo Spektrum, and it was an amazing concert!  The intimate atmosphere they created in that big venue was magic.

I also recently bought the new Ani DiFranco DVD and it rocked, run and buy "live at babeville"!

ok friends, stay cool, lots of love

Oh my good what a month this has been for Roy Ole, Maria and me! You people have been so great!!!! What a brilliant way to start the day - playing for a crowd like this:

We have had over 65 gigs now, and been all over Hordaland. We have slept in scary hotels and really beautiful hotels. We have seen allot of strange people around in the small villages around Norway's west coast - I can tell you that, and it's very entertaining!

The nature has been amazing, the sun has been shining nonstop and our van is a dream to drive!

And I want to thank everybody that joined us on "Time", playing different instruments and singing, never stop playing guys!

  Austevoll!

 Ulvik!

Just to finish off this short blog, I have to show you the best tractor ever that we found in Evanger! have a good weekend everyone, see you around!!!!!!!!

Lotsa love Heidi Marie

Touring at Schools!

So now we are two weeks into out tour in Hordaland, and today we played at Sandgotna School in Loddefjord, and they had the best chairs we have seen so far! Orange and crazy! Here you can see Maria at sound check:

The tour has been really good so far! The students are so nice, and even if our gigs start at like 9:30 in the morning (a time of the day I usually prefer to spend in bed fast asleep) we all have a really good time and sometimes it even feels like we are playing in clubs late at night.

I  want to thank all the students for all the positive feedback, lovely smiles and applause! What a great way to start the day!

I want to share with you our tired faces in the morning, see you around!
